Hi Everyone, it’s come to my attention that Quantum Fiber install in the neighborhood has left a lot of you unhappy with the way that they have treated the neighborhood. I’m planning on going to the City with complaints but I’d like to start collecting them. Please email me at devonshirehoalongwood@gmail.com with your concerns. I’ll collect them and take them to the next meeting of the City Council to file a complaint.
Update 1/13/2025 @ 3:00 PM: I’ve contacted Brian Sackett who is now Deputy Mayor of Longwood and the City manager and will meet with them tomorrow 1/14/2025 @ 4PM to discuss concerns while the work is ongoing.
Update 1/13/2025 @ 5:58 PM: Some neighbors are reporting a power outage on Preston Rd due to Quantum Fiber installation. Update: At ~ 7 PM it was rectified.
Update: 1/14/2025 @ 11:19 PM: I met with Brian Sackett (Deputy mayor/City Commissioner for District 5) and Clint Gioielli (City manager) . Some things to note:
- The City is aware of the damage being done to the land during Quantum Fiber installation. They will have to come around once the installation is completed for the neighborhood and repair any damage to the front lawns. If there is any further extensive damage, please document it with photos and videos so we can make sure the installer is held accountable.
- Regarding the installation of the road surface on Devonshire Blvd, they chose a new method of paving and product which was tested in other parts of Orlando. They are not happy with the outcome. Tiberon Ct was also done with the same product and was better. They are going to “stripe” the road (put down stop marks and edge lines) on Jan 20th. They will also repair a cracked sidewalk. However, they will reassess in April/May and require them to come back and fix the road properly.
- For either of the above issues, if you have any specific complaints, please send your information to the City Engineer:
- Eric Nagowski
- enagowski@longwoodfl.org
- 407-263-2395
- Also let me know if you have any further issues during the installation period.
Sincerely,
Catalino
